The Past
Family ::Well of course, I have my parents, but I also have a younger brother and an older brother, but I haven't seen them in a while... History :: I was born an raised in a small town in the plains of Amber Stone. My family is all tailors by trade, but from a young age, I knew I was different. I always had a fascination with the weathers, and I had this uncanny way of knowing what the weather was like. The old man in the village told me that it was a rare gift, and that I should go to the wizard academy and develop it. My parents disagreed. They were convinced that only bad luck would come from my strange abilities, and they wanted me to ignore them, in hope that they would fade. So, instead of doing something about them, I learned how to sew and embroider and knit and take care of the house and the other things that women do.
My powers didn't diminish however, and not having control of them, they only got worse. By the time I was old enough to marry, there were no suitors for me because they were all intimidated. And yet still my parents refused to send me to the wizarding academy.
Eventually, I got fed up with the whole thing. I knew that I had something special, and I couldn't ignore it! After having a brief discussion with the old man in town (who provided me with some coin), I packed my bags and ran away to the city. From there, I made my way to the wizarding academy.
I've been here for about a year, and although I've gotten much better at controlling my own gift, I've found learning other magic almost impossible. Oh well, I'm sure if I keep trying, I'll get, it right?

What caught your eye :: I liked the setting Sample RP post ::Rebecca was having a great day! Okay, maybe not great, but at least good enough! The sky was sunny with just a few cloudy, and it looked to be staying like that the whole day through! It was the perfect time for a stroll around the courtyard, or to wander the halls, or even to make some new friends. In fact, if it weren't for that there would be nothing wrong with her day. Oh okay, there was the magic lesson she had failed early, and her teachers were telling her that if she didn't shape up, she might have to be held back in the basic classes. It was a disappointing thought, most of the people in the basic classes were all younger than her, and worse than that, they were all better than her! Almost all of them would be graduating to the next level where she would be left behind. She tried, she really did, but somehow, she just didn't get it, although it didn't help that she couldn't really seem to get a grasp on the things her teachers talked about. Feel the magic inside yourself, grab it and bend it to your will, make your thoughts reality? The other students may have been able to do it eventually, but the magic inside her didn't seem to like that. 'Let's not make those sticks burst into flame' it said, 'you know what would be a better idea? Making you sick to your stomach while you fail to call a lightning bolt from the sky! Or just do nothing. That works too.'
And then there was that. The letter from her parents. Why did they insist on asking her to give it up and come home? Didn't they see that she couldn't give it up? Nevermind the fact that they had obviously hired someone else to write the letter, non of her family knew how to read or write. She only knew because the old man had insisted on teaching her, saying that she would need it, which she did. "Ugh! Why can't they just leave well enough alone!" she complained, crumpling the letter up in a ball and chucking it across the room. Instantly, all heads in the library were looking at her. "Sorry." she whispered, subdued, before gathering her things and leaving the library, crashing into someone as she did so.
Anything else? :: I hope to have fun here and improve greatly!
